The Operations Research Society of South Africa (ORSSA) hosts its prestigious national conference annually providing a vital platform for discussions on OR advancements. The 54th Annual Conference of ORSSA is proudly hosted by the Department of Logistics at Stellenbosch University (SU). The conference theme is “Descending towards the Optimal Valley: Advancing Real-World Impact in OR for a Better Africa”. It draws on the metaphor of gradient descent which aligns with our venue in the scenic Devon Valley, as well as resonates with our aspiration to advance impactful research in Africa. A strong focus of the conference will be on combinatorial optimisation, although we will also feature a broad range of Operations Research topics.
