A national conference is organised by the Society at different venues annually, usually during the month of September, to serve as a forum for communication about OR. An international expert or a prominent local operations researcher is usually invited as the keynote speaker. This is the premier annual meeting of the Society, and apart from a rich and varied programme of presentations by both practitioners and academics, the conference usually also boasts a very enjoyable social component.

The 51st Annual Conference of the Operations Research Society of South Africa (ORSSA) will be hosted by the Department of Statistical Sciences at the University of Cape Town (UCT), South Africa. The Conference will be held in hybrid mode; primarily an in-person event (subject to national COVID-19 regulations) but with opportunity for delegates to join remotely too.

Registration will take place over a continental breakfast on Monday morning, 12th September, which will give delegates a chance to greet, mingle and re-connect . The conference will run until Wednesday, 14 September 2022.

The theme of this year's conference is Transdisciplinary OR : Agile, Actionable and Inclusive! We believe the lineup of keynote speakers, optional add-on tutorials and focussed streams will provide delegates the opportunity to engage with experienced academics, practitioners and industry leaders.
